Blending grounded techniques with soulful intuition, Embody osteopathy is a quiet return to balance.

Osteopathy is hands-on approach to healthcare that supports the body’s natural ability to move, adapt and heal. Rather than focusing on a single symptom or area of pain, osteopaths address all contributors to pain with a multi-faceted lens.

What is Osteopathy ?

What Osteopaths Treat

Neck Pain and Headaches

Lower Back Pain and Sciatica

Pelvic and Hip Pain

Osteoarthritis

Repetitive Strain Injuries

Sporting Injuries

Pregnancy-related pain — Including pelvic girdle pain, pubic symphysis discomfort, sciatica, rib pain, and carpal tunnel syndrome

  • We will take a history; ask about your presenting complaint and any relevant medical history that may impact your current experience of pain.

We complete a thorough physical examination of relative range of motion, functional movement and muscle strength/tension. This allows us to confidently diagnose your pain.

  • In your consultation, osteopaths will use a range of hands-on manual therapy techniques, including:

    • Soft-tissue massage

    • Joint mobilization/articulation

    • Spinal manipulation

    • Dry needling

    • Deep ligament friction

    • Fascial stretching and counter-strain techniques

    • Functional/Balance ligamentous technique/Cranial techniques

Once we understand you and your unique personal presentation, osteopaths might also support your pain experience with:

    • Ergonomic advice (work or movement related posture)

    • Exercise rehabilitation

    • Stress management

    • Nutritional/supplementation advice

All treatment, advice and rehabilitation is specifically tailored to each individual, based off of the information provided within the consultation. Osteopaths aim to manage and rehabilitate presenting complaints, and provide lasting prevention.

What is Osteopathy for Pelvic Health?

Far too often, women believe that dysfunctions of the pelvic floor are normal symptoms of ageing, being postpartum or as a result of reproductive health impairments. It is an area that many women feel shame with discussing and find difficulty navigating within the healthcare system. Following are few of many symptoms related to the pelvic floor:

    • Pelvic pain

    • Persistent low back/hip pain that has difficulty getting improving

    • Urinary leaking (often with exercise or ground pressure such as jumping)

    • Overactive bladder (frequent need for urination)

    • Dragging or bulging sensation in the vagina

    • Painful sex

    • Painful periods

    • Constipation or IBS

    • Frequent UTI’s

  • An osteopath will take a broad approach to assessing and treating the pelvic floor. Therefore, we will observe the whole body before assessing the pelvic floor itself.

An osteopathic pelvic floor consultation may look like:

    • A thorough history check

    • Whole body assessment

    • Internal pelvic floor assessment

    • External/internal treatment of relevant findings

    • Future management planning

Note: We understand that concerns in the pelvic region can feel deeply personal and private. Our mission is to approach every individual with utmost sensitivity and respect.

For this reason, it is common for an initial pelvic assessment or treatment to focus on external techniques only. This is a deliberate approach to allow time to build rapport and a trusting therapeutic relationship before considering any internal examination or treatment.

If you are interested in booking in an initial pelvic health consultation but have prior questions or concerns, please email your enquiry to info@embodyosteopathy.au to arrange a complimentary phone consultation.

Meet Your Practioner

Dr. Jade Longmuir (Osteopath)

B.HSc (Osteopathy), M.HSc (Osteopathy)

I’m an osteopath with a holistic, personalised approach, specialising in women’s health through all life stages. I combine hands-on care, education, and movement to empower my patients and support their body’s natural healing.

  • I was drawn to osteopathy for its holistic approach to healthcare — a model of care that recognises the interconnection between all bodily systems and their ability to function in unison. This principle forms the foundation of my clinical practice, where patient management is tailored to each individual, with an understanding of the broader contributors to pain and dysfunction.

Since becoming a mother, I have developed a particular interest in women’s health. I’m passionate about supporting women across all life stages, with a special focus on musculoskeletal care during pre-conception, pregnancy, and the post-partum period. This includes the assessment and management of pelvic floor dysfunction.

As a hands-on practitioner, I value the power of therapeutic touch alongside the importance of education and movement. My goal is to support and empower my patients, helping them feel lighter and leave each appointment with clarity, comfort, and confidence in their body’s ability to heal.

Outside the clinic, I enjoy running, leisurely walks with my family, getting creative in the kitchen, or relaxing with a coffee or glass of wine with my nearest and dearest.

  • " I saw Jade for some ongoing pain and niggles in my leg during half marathon training. Jade provides such a calming and welcoming space, makes you feel understood and takes a holistic approach to your injuries. She provided so many resources to improve my strength and checked in consistently throughout my training block. I would never have been able to run my half marathon without her care and guidance. I can’t thank her or recommend her highly enough! "
